I've heard that before but I don't think it's something that is definitive or set in stone. I had OHSS after my IUI and it only lasted a couple of days, and I got pregnant. Whereas I had OHSS after my IVF and it lasted over a week and I had a more severe case, and I never got pregnant at all. I think everyone's body is different and just like early pregnancy symptoms or side effects to the hormone treatments, everybody responds differently and none of these things are set in stone.
I wouldn't worry. In fact, with this IUI my symptoms were the most mild yet, and I unexpectedly threw up yesterday (something I've never done before), and have been very nauseous the past two days, so I'm thinking something is up!
Hang in there. I know it's hard not to dissect every little thing and put a notch in the "in favor of pregnancy" list or a notch in the "may not have worked list", but the important thing is to try to stay relaxed and just let it happen.
Best of luck to you!
Wow, thank you. I was hoping to hear something like this.
Sounds like you are in your 2ww as well. Best of luck to you!! Hopefully the vomiting was a bit of early morning sickness.....
I had OHSS after IVF in oct 2008. This started after 6 or 7 dp3dt. It started mild and got worse later. I was so bloated that my belly looked like 6 months. Doc asked me to keep hydrated and to drink only Gatorade. My bloating stayed till 2 weeks and went away. I took a hpt on 8 and 10 dpt, got bfp. It's not necessary that you should get OHSS to get bfp. Every body is different. Good luck to you!
