Ovidril Shots
My RE wants me to do an Ovidril (sp?) injection once i go in for an ultrasound and they see a good follie.. Does anyone else use these? If so what are your experiences? also is that the same thing as an HCG shot, where you need to wait a certain amount of time before you can POAS to get it out of your system?? THANKS!
I used this once (and am hoping to again this month) and you are correct. It is an HCG shot that they give once your follicles are mature in order to ensure that an egg is released. My doctor explained it to me as an artificial way to produce an LH surge. If you are doing the injection yourself, I really can't give any advice because I had a nurse give me mine. I think it can definitely increase your chances, so best of luck to you!!
Thanks so much! Sounds like the nurse will also be giving me mine - once I go in for the ultrasound and hopefully have a dominant follie! He said I would O 39 hours after the shot, so hopefully we're not working too much at that time!! Good luck this month!!
I injected myself with Ovidrel last cycle (and got a BFP!!!), and found it to be much easier to do and had less side effects than Novarel, the HCG shot I had taken before. It's easy-peasy! But, you will have to wait about 10 days before POAS in order to get an accurate result. Even though the dosage looks lower than 10,000 units, it metabolises slower than other HCG shots, so it still takes 10 days at least. Although, I did POAS on 9dpiui and 11 dpiui and got a before before my blood test confrimed my pregnancy at 14dpiui with VERY high numbers.
OOO thats so exciting!! Congrats on your BFP!!! well that sounds lke it would be a good thing for it to stay in your system longer than the other shots, but man this will be my first medicated cycle and i'm sure that the tww will just go sooooo sloow!! Did you test to make sure it was out of your system before getting a BFP on a HPT ? I dont' think I could stand getting a false positve from the trigger! Thats so exciting and again congrats!!! : )
I got my BFP the second time I used the Ovidrel shot! Best wishes to you! I had 2 follies that measured 20 mm and took the shot that night.
OO yall are making me excited!!! its been a while since i've had a lot of hope for a cycle , so its a nice feeling! Its so hard to take disappointments!! , did yall both use IUI or all natural? and when did yall bd or iui in relation to the trigger? The results just got in for my dh SA results, and i missed the call! so they should be calling back shortly, so i'll know more about what route we are going to be taking! My RE said typically with femara you still produce good CM, but I defintely want to increase my chances as much as possible! I know all these opk's hpts etc etc add up after a while! I typically use the FRER- tested ealry one or two times -chem preg one time! so i'll just have to work on my patience and keep myself busy!
