Post Ablation fertility

I had an ablation 3 years ago. I was not told that it would effect my fertility and now I'm wishing to have a baby. I'm 33 and very healthy. I had a hulka clips put on my tubes and would need a reversal. Before I spend the money I want to know my chances. I am aware of the complications. I do have a monthly period for 3 to 4 days.

I love that you took your medical care in your hands.  I would just double check with your insurance to make sure Dr. March isn't covered...at least the surgery center. I know mine covered it.  (the surgery center)
Dr marchs nurse will type a letter to them also ask for an exception.
The only reason I am pushing so hard is,
I was told by 2 different doctors (fertility) after 2 separate surgeries, that I needed a surrogate to carry a pregnancy. I had  found Dr. M after the first surgery, but still didnt believe how important it was, so went for another.  Nope, no help there...i had been in contact with Dr. m throughout, and just decided imjad to have  surgery with him, and now have 2 yr old twins.
It was worth very cent we had to spend.
One would really think any doctor could fix this stuff, but sadly it isn't so. One of the doctors actually made it worse.  He used a heat source after promising he wouldnt.
Also, remember, medical expenses (including travel and lodging) can be written off your taxes.
I am a huge advocate of going to the best.  It's what he specializes in.
Please keep in contact!!! :)

Well I don't know if travel and affording him are an option for us but I found a specialist at the Mayo clinic in Rochester MN. He has treated a few more patients with scarring post ablation. I have to see an OB/GYN first on the 22 of July for a referral so my insurance will cover it. I'm very excited and so glad I started researching for myself.  Thank you so much for the information. Helped so much. I will let you know how it all turns out. I'm planning a reversal for Christmas if it all works out.

I did email him. He was so nice and responded immediately. I even sent him a copy of my hysteroscopy and he was very optimistic. I'm so glad I did. Thank you so much!!

Oh no!  You only want to leave it if it absolutely cannot be removed!  I have dr march's email address if you would like for me to forward it to you :).

Yes I was very upset to learn the complications an ablation causes. I discussed and decided on Hulka clips because it was the easiest to reverse if anything ever happened. He knew I wanted to be able to concider a reversal. I am mostly upset with myself for not researching it on my own as well. I live in MN. I have seen Dr. March mentioned several times. I have heard both that it's good to remove the scarring and others say its best to leave it. Thank you for the info and I will contact him.

May I ask where you live??  There are a couple of doctors that specialize in removing uterine scarring  (what the ablation causes)  I have seen them work miracles on ladies.   Dr. Charles March is in California, and he will answer emails for free. Yes, for free!  If you are interested I will gladly give you his email.  Its not right that doctors don't tell us the negative side of these procedures

Thanks. I've had one but it was the day before my period and only 2mm. I will be having another next week. Hoping for 5+.

Talk to a fertility specialist, and be sure to stress that you are still having periods.  He or she will probably want to do some ultrasounds to see how thick of a lining you are producing.
