Good point. It didn't occur to me because the latest time I did IVF, I was a recipient and someone else produced the eggs. I can't remember now what the doc said about exercise (if he said anything at all) back when I was the one being stimulated to produce eggs myself. Elliptical and strength does not seem as likely to cause torsion as running, but again, rhea definitely should follow the doc's advice on this.
The RE said there was a danger of getting a twisted ovary with all the meds stimulating follicle production or something like that. He said it was extremely painful if it occurs. I don't know how often that has occurred but I figured I wouldn't chance it. So I was told not to exercise from shortly after starting med's until the 8 week u/s. I know every office is different and if I had been at an office that said it was fine I would have been exercising regularly. Again, best wishes on a BFP! Hubby and I are just starting TTC #2. Hopefully it won't take 6 years like it did for #1.
soccermom, she said she just started her injections. It's perfectly all right to exercise when all you're doing is the run-up, i.e., the shots. I would not exercise right after transfer, or maybe for a couple of weeks after that, and then if she gets a positive she might want to take it easy for a little while. But right now, all she's got going on is shots. So why not exercise.
My RE said no exercise until the 8week u/s. It was torture and I was SO tempted to ignore him because I felt like there was nothing wrong with it. But, I also knew if it didn't work I would have wondered if it was my fault for exercising. So, I waited and I have a 10 month baby girl that is very much worth the wait. Best wishes for a BFP!
