Tubal Reversal

I'm 31 (I think ;-)) and want to have my tubal reversed. My tubes have been clamped for 8 1/2 years now and I am going to be married soon and would like to have another baby. I have Blue Cross Blue Shield but was told by friends and family that they would NOT cover any of the procedure. I will call and check for myself in the next day or two. I'm curious as to where to go and what kind of expense this will be. I've done some researching, the name Dr. Rosenfeld in Texas ($6,000) and the Jackson Clinic in Tennessee ($4,500) keep surfacing. However, I'm not seeing many success stories.

How many months have ago was your reversal? Did they give you an idea of how long it could take?

Thank you for the response. IVF is way more expensive and if it doesn't take the first time, I would have to pay for a second try. I thought that the rate was good that you could conceive after a reversal. But the more comments I read, NO ONE says "I'm pregnant!"

FYI
Tube reversals are not guaranteed to work. You may want to explore IVF as well since usually neither are covered under insurance. Hope you find an option that works out best for you!

I had a reversal last year. Insurance didn't pay so I had mine cash pay. It was $6,300 with Dr. Mor in LA. It was relatively painful but overall a good experience. I like the Dr mor a lot. Not pregnant yet but hopefully soon

Dr. Silber in St. Louis does some good work, recently did a groundbreaking surgery involving an ovary transplant from one identical twin to another, I think.  If he does not do tubal reconstruction, perhaps his office could tell you who they would recommend.
