My insurance cover diagnosis only then after that your on your own. However, caremark is who our prescriptions are through and they covered all meds. Good luck.
My insurance doesnt cover anything infertility, I personally have to pay for all my infertility meds, exams, test, consultations. If I were pregnant I believe they would cover all this. However, my DH insurance does. God willingly I do become pregnant (begin 1st clomid cycle tomorrow) I'll be placed on his.
rmp - me too. My BCBS doesn't cover fertility treatment or drugs. But it will cover ultrasounds, ob and specialists vists, and all of labor/maternity costs. It also covered the HSG test too - just a $50 deductable for that for me.
Hope that helps hun. You CAN do some stuff with minimal costs if you don't have coverage. Good luck!
If you mean the HSG test then yes. It paid for mine. :)
I'm in the opposite shape that you're in. My regular gyno is here in town about 15 min away but she referred me to an RE and he's almost 2 hrs away. UGH! lol. I know it's going to be worth it but when you take weekly trips down there it gets a little tiresome and stressful. :) Good luck to you! Please let me know how it all goes. :D Feel free to message me if you need to talk or have anymore questions.
Does it cover the fallopian tubes test too to see if they're blocked? I know if covers the tests but that's it. I guess I can go find a new OBGYN since my old one is way too far. thanks for the info!
My experience with health insurance that didn't cover any fertility stuff is that it does cover anything you would need if you got pregnant naturally. So, drugs -- no, ultrasounds -- yes.
Hi, Mine doesn't cover ANYTHING as far as infertility either, not even meds. It has however covered all visits to my regular gyno and all visits to my fertility dr. That includes all the ultrasounds, all the blood work and the monitoring. It's nice to know it covered that much but it sure would be nice if it covered more. It just really depends on what type of insurance. I have blue cross blue shield ppo and I don't have to be referred for it to be covered. I think it's HMO that has to have a referral. Don't quote me on that though. It's one way or the other. Anyways, just to be sure I'd call the number on your insurance card. I sure hope this helps and I wish you the best. Good Luck! :)
