advice??? anyone

Hi all, I am about to start metformin and clomid. had my HSG and found out that my tubes r not blocked but my ovaries.. ( go figure) my doc diagnosed me with PCOS. one of my levels was too high so i have to bring it down So now i have to take all these meds to hopefully stimulate my ovaries to release an egg.. this is all so much info... anyway my question is does clomid come only in a pill form or do u have to take in the form of a shot? i hope pills I can't imagine trying ot give myself a shot everyday... i would pass out... lol I know everyone is different and their bodies react diff. to meds. can someone tell me what common side effects to look for...  I am like on info. overload all this because my ovaries decided to have a traffic jam in there and now nothing can pass through. OMG.... any info will help thanks to all and good luck on everthing that u venture out to do....
lots of baby dust!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am on clomid and have experienced just about every symtom in the book, some i didnt even know were clomid related until i talked to my doc about it! 50 mg is where i started and only had hot flashes, but once i went to 100 mg i had hot flashes, bloating, some weight gain, flashing light things at the sides of my vision (mostly at night). But likesaid above, it does not effect everyone the same. In my opinion it is all worth it if it helps me do something i just cant do on my own which is get pregnant:)

I have PSOS also. I am on metformin and clomid. Not everyone expereinces all the same symptoms. But with the metformin It made me sick. really nauseous and in the bathroom. but after about a week you get used to it. I found that it helped if I was moving rather than sitting there. I am also on 1,000mg of it though. and I have only been on the clomid once so far I am about to start it again today. But I cant tell you what my symptoms were since I got a kidney infection after taking it. So I wouldnt know what symptoms came from what. But your cycles may be heavier!! It wont be anything you cant handle so just hang in there. Good luck!

Ditto to the above! I had no side effects from clomid after four cycles but also had no success. I went on to an IVF cycle and am now 8 weeks pregnant. And like pol79, I found the injections to be nothing. The first was the worst because I was scared, but I was actually surprised how easy and painless they were. Good luck to you!

Clomid only comes in a pill form and is the easiest and cheapest way to treat infertility issues dealing with trouble with ovulation. It is also not as effective as those dreaded injectibles that you mentioned (actually, they really weren't so bad - I did a total of 5 cycles with daily injections and was fine). I never had any side effects from Clomid (and it never worked for me unfortunately), but some women complain about headaches and mood swings, among other things... I always wondered, though, if that was just in their heads, considering the stress of going through treatments :) Best of luck to you :)
