home pregnancy test after ivf possibly correct?

I did egg retrieval on 6/10.  ovidrel(hcg)shot on 6/8.  blastocyst transfer on 6/15.  i know they tell you not to take a home test, but i couldn't help myself.  I thought maybe if i took one every couple of days, the results might be more accurate.  i took a test 6/18 was negative.  today 6/21  tested positive.  Is it even possible?

HI, This is my third IVF attempt. This is a fresh cycle. I have 1 child from my first attempt in 2004 after 6 losses. The second was a bfn. We decided to enjoy our time with the child we have been blessed to have. Recently he has been asking for a sibling and after much consideration we decided to take this journey again. We started meds on 1/14/10, retrieval on 1/26/10, and 5 day Blastocyst transfer on 1/31/10  My test date is tomorrow but I couldn't wait and took one today. I went to the lab where I work and they drew my blood. No HCG count just a test. The test was BFN. I am devastated but my dh is still optimistic that I tested early and it will be BFP. Could it be?

I know exactly how you feel. I am on my second IVF cycle. Transferred 5 good qulaity embies on January 26th. Have been keeping my fingers crossed but started spotting brown blood and mucus on day 4 after transfer. No pain or cramps. Took two hpt today. Both came back negative. Not sure I bear to hear that said out loud. Have my blood test tomorrow. Very nervous and scared. I am 44 and this is really my last shot.

A faint positive is a positive. And the only way that might be innacurate is if you were taking hcg. I had ivf done 2 years ago and got a positive on day 8 with those same drugs and I delivered 34 weeks later! Congrats so far, just be aware that sometimes when you know this early it makes it harder if you lose early to. But I would feel confident about the HPT.

Hi everyone, I have had one eptopic pregancy one failed IVf cycle this is round two of fresh IVF.

We had 2 embryo's transferd on 27th Jan, but on day 8 I went to the loo and there was traces of blood I was devastated and we accepted that I had got my period and I was not pregnant, we cried all weekend but then picked ourselves up and said "stay positive and try again"  but 3 days later I noticed that there was nothing there when going to the loo so started to read info on the net and realsied this could be implantation bleeding and the nurse also said the same.  So I went against everything I had said about not doing HPT and got one I thought well I thought I wasnt pregnant so what have I got to loose. I got a positive reading of 1-2 week preganant, I was very shocked and so happy, but now reading info on the net today the reading could be incorrect due to all the drugs they put into us my PT at the clinic is on Friday - what a rollercoaster I just dont no what to think now?  Good luck everyone it really is so emotiona! but stay strong and stay positive!!
