poor responders

I'm 26 years old.  My husband and I have attempted Ivf twice.  Both times I had low follicle numbers around 5 each time.  The five that i did have took a lot of time to mature. Both times my ivf cycles were converted to iui.  Both of them failed.  Were any of you poor responders or have ivf cycles like mine that were converted to iui.  Did you go on to have better cycles with more follicles.  I'm just afraid that 5 is all i'll ever end up with. i could use some encouragement.  Thanks           Danielle

i'm a poor responder.  have been since our first attempt.  i've had my protocols changed every cycle and it never gets better in my case.  for the cycles that made it to retrieval, i almost always only have 3 or 4, but they are good ones and that's the important thing - to have good grade A eggs.  but that just means there is nothing left to freeze so every attempt is a fresh cycle.  for those that got converted to an IUI, it was a dominant follicle that forced the issue.  sorry i can't offer much encouragement.  hang in there.  i hold out for the fact that i only need one to take.  best of luck to you!

I am also someone that is a poor responder, and I am 29.  Each IVF I do, it seems like my response is worse and worse.  Mine were never changed to an IUI, they were just cancelled.  I am looking at trying another cycle in January, and hoping we will have better success.  I'll be keeping you in my thoughts and prayers that you have success soon!
