Hi sunkissed19 ihave same problems like yours after nissen .alot of gas pain .i want to have a baby but im afraid of gas pains during the pregnancy.how is your pregnancy going .i wish yours is well sorry for english im not good at.
When I was 21 I had my first Nissen Fundoplication. I was virtually symptom free after a long recovery. I had to take tums once in a while but it was definitely manageable. I got pregnant when I was 30 and had a great pregnancy, with some heartburn but not as bad as some of my friends had. I did take nexium off and on. I had a scheduled c-section due to other problems.
Unfortunately, when my son was 18 months old (last november) I had to have the Nissen redone. They aren't sure if it's from my pregnancy or several bouts of vomitting due to the flu and medication issues related to a separate medical condition. I didn't start having problems again until my son was 10 months old, which would make me think it wasn't the pregnancy.
We are currently struggling with the decision on whether to have another child after 1 failed nissen. I'm not sure this offers much help but just wanted to let you know i've been there. I didn't even know it was something to worry about as no doctor had ever told me it was an issue. I am sure everything will go great for you and since there is really nothing you can do, you just need to take care of yourself and your little blessing!! My son was worth my second surgery and would do it over again and again. Just wait until you get your little one in your arms :)
If you have any questions just let me know! I will be praying for you and would love to keep updated!
