LPR drinking beer special occasion

For the last 2 years, been suffering with LPR/silent reflux. Main symptoms is get a really sore throat and sometimes get that acid taste in back of mouth. Been taking Omneprazole 20mg twice a day and gaviscon advance after food which helps but is not perfect. I very rarely drink alchohol as find after a couple of pints of lager I get that acidic taste in my mouth after quite a lot of belching. This weekend though I'm going out on a stag evening so will be drinking quite a lot, I know this is not ideal but is there any tips I can do before hand to ease the symptoms? Would taking Omneprazole before I go out drinking help?

  I am interested to hear how your weekend went....I know not having alcohol is the only answer when we are dealing with reflux, and some do not like that answer....so I wonder how you fared after your night of drinking.
