Don't know what i have but symptoms are getting better, should i still be worried!?!

Okay so i'm not completely sure when this started but since i've noticed it, it's been over a week now. At first i was really constipated, and stool was pencil sized and anal sphincter would burn when having a bowel movement and after it would itch and hurt when i contracted the muscles. Well i did find a sort of fissure i think on the outside of the sphincter were i cut myself. First off i will say i am gay and i do shave down there and anal sex has happened on occasion. I thought maybe i just irritated myself really bad or something so i made sure sex was cut out the picture until i figured out what was going on. Well that may have explained the soreness when contracting but it didn't explain the burning or the constipation. Well symptoms have gotten a little better and it doesn't burn as much it's more a light burn and some itching every now and then. But it hasn't gone completely away either. I began to take metamucil to try and help the situation and the stool began more normal then before but it's not a full normal stool it's more squigly and flatish but still wide. Like a snaked would look like swimming across a river or something and every now and then there is a tiny bit of whitish mucus looking stuff on the end off the stool that exited last. Idk i'm kind of worried. It doesn't really hurt to much and i've had blood in my stool before but i have had anal sex and it always went away if it did occur. Could i have infected myself or irritated something? I mean i'm not sure what to do. Could use a little more knowledge on the subject. What exactly does white milkyish mucus usually signify? And they say that stool usually the shape of you're colon so does that mean the space in my colon has gotten tighter? Or collapsed some or something? Please anyone if you know something please share!

thanks ... i've haven't had blood in my stool i'm pretty sure ... usually just after or on the toilet paper and actually only once did it happen and i'm guessing that was from the fissure. But since that one time there hasn't been any blood and i've made sure to check. I just really don't want to have to go to a doctor and ask these questions. I really feel for all these people that have symptoms or problems like mine, takes a lot of courage to just bring it up in conversation.

It sounds like you did cut yourself and this is healed.  Pain and itching are classic symtoms of hemorrhoids, and any cortizone cream will stop this.  Hemorrhoids will cause blood to appear on the tissue, sometimes a small amount in the water. But anytime there is blood in the stool, accompanied by a change in stool, you need to see a doctor, preferably a Gastroenterologist.  There are many things that can cause your symtptoms, from minor to major, but I would think it's either an infection or irritation.  Be safe and see the doctor.
