Acidity from a long time

My father is 65. He is suffereing from acidity from last few months. Is it normal while his diet is usual and on time or it is dangerous and concerned to detailed checkups?

Yes, but his best chances by far for for recovery are if it's caught early.

Definately i will go for those tests very early.
but pls clear me that if it is gastric cancer, is it curable ?

As said, breath test for H.pylori, if positive - 1 week treatment with antibiotics. Stool test for occult blood. After that, probably also gastroscopy (it may be an ulcer or even gastric cancer).

I recommend these testing as soon as possible. I'm not saying it's cancer, but if it is, it is really important that it is discovered early.

No, he never smoke but he is looking tired and weak also conspicuously within last few months.
He told that he feels acidity and taking non-spicy food from last 2-3 months and also swallow pills of acidity.

How does he know, if it is acidity?

A simple breath test may show if the reason is H. pylori, bacterium often found in the stomach and causing heartburn and bloating.

Does he smoke?
