Thanks for the advice. It was what I had expected based on my research. There are several hours between the procedures so the results should be valid, but I will definitely ask about the effects of sedation on the manometry. The procedures were scheduled to get me in as soon as possible and to be able to have them done on the same day, so I guess that was the best that they could do.
If they do the manometry after the endoscopy, you'll still be sedated and the reading may not be valid. Make sure you discuss it with the doc.
The manometry can be a bit difficult, but with a good tech & determination to swallow the tube as quickly as possible, the test can be uncomfortable but not impossible.

I had a 24 hour ph test and manometry , the only thing i could tell you is that they don't put you to sleep like they do for an endoscopy and it hurts when they guide it thru, the monometry part they put a tube down and give u stuff to drink and they see how well you swallow the liquids. I hope you feel better soon
