How do gallstones pass?

I have a history of gallstones. I recently had a colonoscopy-just showed benign polyps, and an endoscopy-everything was fine. Tonight, when I moved my bowels, there was bright red blood in the toilet along with the stool. Could I have passed a gallstone?

Only really small gallstones can pass into intestine, and they are nicely rounded - not likely to cause bleeding. Bleeding may be from polyps, or from hemorrhoids, if you have them.
