I have apthous ulcers in terminal ileum and minor gastritis WHAT DIET SHOULD I EAT?

i had an upper endoscopy and colonoscopy, the results found,
I have apthous ulcers in terminal ileum (possible crohn's) and minor gastritis in the stomach (checking for h. pylori).

The doctor recommended a high fiber diet but i read elsewhere I should avoid fiber if this is possibly chrons, anybody know what I should eat or avoid eating? my bowl movements seem to be hard dark and pellet like lately, but i still manage to have one bowel movement a day so im not fully constipated.

I have been eating fiber one cereal for fiber, and lean chicken for protein, is this good or should i avoid the fiber and protein and eat something else?

It depends what causes this "stomach discomfort". If this is from upper abdominal bloating, then reducing simple sugars (glucose, fructose) may help: so les sweats and fruits. If it is lower abdominal bloating, you can try to exlude dairy, since lactose from dairy is consumped by bacteria which then produce gas. If you think, you're more bloated after increasing fibers, than it is this. If your discomfort is pain, then I don't know how to manage this with a diet. Problem with potato chips and chocolate cookies is that these foods are dry and energy-concentrated, they may contribute both to bloating and constipation.

You may have few diet experiments:
1. Exclude sugar (sweets, cola...) + fruits for let's say 4 days and observe result
2. Exclude dairy for 4 days. You can exclude active yogurt. Probiotics are not proved to help in Crohn's, even if someone advertises so.

yes the fiber seems to have helped with the constipation i am getting a good sized bowel movement once a day, but i still get stomach discomfort throughout the day and especially at night. Here is my typical daily diet sometimes it varies but this is typical.

11am: 1 cup fiber one cereal, 1 cup of rice milk, half banana chopped up
2pm: granola bar and 4oz of ensure)
4pm: 6 oz chicken, with 3 oz canned vegetables
6pm: 4 oz ensure
8pm: 4oz activa yogurt
before i go to bed i will have a small snack like a few bites about 1-2 oz of a snack  cheezits, or potato chips, or a choclate chip cookie.

thats my whole days diet, sometimes it varies but this is what it typically looks like.

I don't know, if there is any special diet for Crohn's, you should adjust your diet according to your feelings and symptoms. Fibers were recommended to you to help you with constipation.

In gastritis, it can help, if you avoid acidic foods and a lot of proteins (red meat, eggs...).
