I keep losing weight-getting scary

I have IBS and wonder if it's connected to my continuing weight loss, which is getting out of hand. The bigger picture is that I have autoimmune issues: sjogren's, arthritis and fibro, and I have Gerd. Also, 25 years ago, I was put on prosac and gained 60 lbs., despite healthy eating and continued exercise I stopped it after 16 years because of this, and began losing. Now I've lost more than 80 lbs. Food often makes me nauseous, I have a bitter taste in my mouth (teeth problems galore from sjogrens.) And now I'm having whatever I eat come right back up. It's been going like this for a week +.

Insights? I'm going in to my Dr., but not for a while. I don't have much more to lose and I'm getting very weak!

Thank you!

Thank you for your feedback. Yes, I appreciate your feedback, and have wondered if it could be linked to (too many) meds. I will see my Dr. soon.
Be well.

Well, if your digestion is not working right, nutrients in food aren't going to be absorbed very well, so you could lose some weight.  You ought to be on medicine for IBS, I was given hydrocyamine for mine and it helped a lot.  Also, blueberries as a snack helped, and so did drinking Acidophilus milk and Activia yogurt.  Since you gained 60 pounds from prosac, and you've now lost 80, you're just 20 pounds less than you were 25 years ago.  If you were a little overweight then, not to worry.  But despite all this advice, and if your digestion does get straight, and you continue to lose weight, then you should for sure be checked by your family doc for some other reason for your weight loss, which there are many causes, so he'll need to do a lot of tests.  I might add that IBS can be caused by some medications, like some of the benzodiazepines, so get your doc to review all your drug side effects and maybe switch you over to another kind.
