I'm almost 38 years old and recently started having changes in my bowel movements. About a month ago I had what the nurse told me, was an Upper Respiratory Infection. I was put on Mucinex D because my pharmacy didn't have the meds she prescribed, but was told that the Mucinex was the same thing. So I took all of the pills in the packet, along with Nyquil every night to help me sleep without coughing, and Halls became part of my diet. Into my 3rd week of this "cold" I had enough and bought some more Mucinex, but this time DM. The "cold" stuck with me, became a very bad cough and I took some antibiotics I still had left around the house. I know, I'm not supposed to do that, however I did anyways. I was running a low grade fever (99-101) for about a week. I still have a slight cough, but it sounds like there is mucus, although nothing there. I've stopped taking any meds because I have a low medication tolerance.
Since I started all of this my bowel movements have become VERY loose. I have always been regular, but now I have to go almost immediately after eating. I have gas, but not much pain. However I have to rush to the bathroom. And when I go, it's almost like explosive, but it's not diarrhea. It's very soft and loose with a mucus lining, but not liquid. I eat 5-6 small meals a day, along with play volleyball and tennis. I am now going to the bathroom after every time I eat, and sometimes in between. There is no rectal pain or abdominal pain (other than gaseous), however I have noticed my muscles and joints feel weaker and fatigued. There has been no weight loss or gain, and no bleeding. This is causing problems as I am now scared of when I eat, because I know within about 10 minutes I will have to go, maybe sooner, and it is a rush to go, as there is no holding in.
I'm not sure if this has any factor, but also noticed my mentrual cycle has gotten heavier and was a week late, since this started.
Any help with this would be greatly appreciate!
Thank you!
