Is this normal? Kinda embarased...

Just a general question. I have been noticing some discomfort in my rectum area and decided to spread my cheeks and look in the mirror to see if I could find anything. I noticed, pretty deep into my anal canal, two small bumps symmetrically on either side of my anal canal. I'm wondering, is this normal? Could it be something serious or harmful? I booked an appt. later next week, but am curious. Thanks.

Have you ever had Hemrhoids before?  That sounds like what you are describing.  They look like swollen bumps of skin.  They can be internal or external.  Have you been having any pain associated with it.  Believe me, from experience, you will know what I mean.  Burning, itching, throbbing?  Hemrhoids are swollen blood vessels that get irritated when you are constipated or have a large BM.  They usually go away on their own, but you can get rid of any pain or irritation with some Preperation H.
