2 weeks ago I was diagnosed with Diverticulitis (I have diverticulosis), my doctor put me on Ciprofloxacin and Metronidazole. After about 2 days on that medication, I noticed everytime I ate, I would get a sharp pain in my upper right abdomen that would radiate to my flank (my right side), and then on around my back. My belly was swollen, as well. I called my doc, she sent me to get a ct scan...came back normal. Then sent me to get an ultrasound and a HIDA scan...which I haven't gotten my results, yet. I stopped taking the Ciprofloxacin and the Metronidazole, and I feel way better. I still have the occasional pain, and the HIDA scan hurt really bad, too. It didn't click that it could've been my medications until today (Sunday), and obviously I won't be seeing my doc. Is it possible that these medications could have caused me to have a gallbladder attack? If so, will all of these tests find anything? I was also told that some medications will make you have a gallbladder attack and if that is the case, than you have a bad gallbladder; and that it needs to be taken out. Any help would be greatly appreciated, I'm tired of going in and out of doctors offices and just want to get fixed!!
