Medications for Minor Food Poisoning That Would Be Safe for a Person With Advanced Tardive Dyskinesia

I have what appears to be some form of minor food poisoning but its just a matter of a stomach upset. I don't have any fever or cramping or vomiting. And my stool has returned to normal after some minor diarrhea yesterday. I have some minor nausea and due to this I can't physically cope with the idea of eating. Hopefully this should pass or I'll see my physical doctor. He would normally speak to my psychiatrist to confer but he's out of town. However, when this happened years ago the medication he gave me to settle stomach activity would be markedly unsafe for me now as it is a medication that can create or worsen tardive dyskinesia which I have in advanced form. I know there are some medications where every medication in that class can cause or worsen it and some where there are options. If there are any medications to settle stomach activity that would not have this potential I would really appreciate it if I could have a list. My doctor will make the final diagnosis and see which one would be appropriate to prescribe but it would be of  help to him. Otherwise although I still would see him unless he believes I require an antibiotic I am just going to have to ride this out which is something I prefer not to do.

Yes thanks. That makes sense. I started to eat some simple food now and I am beginning to feel better.

Minor food poisoning that has already went away partly does not need any treatment. If you do not feel like to eat, you don't need to...if this won't cause any additional problems.

Nausea may be partly due to dehydration if you haven't replaced lost fluid. Plain water or orange juice, bananas, bread, toast, cookies...should not cause any additional nausea, I guess. Avoid meet, eggs and other heavy protein/fat food that stay in the stomach for several hours.
