Mild Stomach Pains Weeks After Colonoscopy

I am a 29 year old male. I had a colonoscopy two weeks ago to investigate small amount of blood in the stool. The colonosopy and biopsy showed nothing abnormal at all. About 5 days after the colonoscopy I began have light to mild stomach pains. Varations of 1 to 4 out of 10 on the pain scale. Comes and goes, but comes many times. Never had these pains ever before the colonoscopy.

Pain moves around. No fever. No vomiting. Never intense.

I was scared of perforation - but I assume I would have felt more symptoms or intense pain by now.

It has lasted a week now. It doesn't feel like gas.

Could it be an infection? Diverticulitis caused by the colonoscopy? micro-perforation? IBS? Just anxiety and my mind?

Annoyed and want to stop feeling these annoying pains. :(

Well, I'm  pretty sure that during colonoscopy they pumped air into bowel as it collapses after it is cleared out during bowel prep .What happenens is they have not monitored the pressure level it was to high and have damaged the bowel many papers on this poorly managed colonoscopy so your bowel has been damaged article titled Air induced colon injury during diagnostic colonoscopy by R A Kozarek. D L Barnet .M B Silverstone and R G Smith.Totaly unacceptable probably inadequate staffing during your coloscopy .By increased pressure many results can cause diverticulitis increase risk of bowel cancer etcetc.

Hi there!

Well, without a detailed clinical evaluation it would be difficult to determine the cause of your symptoms. Perforation is a very rare complication of colonoscopy nowadays and is unlikely to be a possibility. Possibilities that may need to be considered include GI/ GU infections/ inflammations, GI motility disorders, growths/ masses, neuro-muscular causes etc. I would suggest getting this evaluated by a primary care physician initially and depending on the cause diagnosed/ suspected, it can be managed accordingly or specialist care may be sought.
Hope this is helpful.

Take care!
