Pain After Gall Bladder Removal

Had gall bladder removed laproscopically in October, 2007.

Still have pain when I turn on my right side to sleep.  Pain is short in duration, about 20 seconds, but fairly sharp.  Happens to a lesser degree if I turn on my left side.  Pain is sharper if I breath deep.  But it goes away each time quickly.

Also feel pain if I sneeze hard at any time, not just lying down.

Dr is uncertain what it could be unless I am just slow in healing from the surgery. Ultrasound didn't show anything.

I would ask if anyone on the board has ideas.....

Had my gallbladder removed in October 2007. I started having nausea again back in January just like I did before the surgery. I also have pain at times and bouts of diarreha. I also have times when I am dizzy. I just had a CT scan and it came back normal. I have an appointment with my surgeon next week. It is just so frustrating to think that you are supposed to be all better and then you have all these symptoms flaring up all the time.

I don't know if this'll be any help, but I had the same problem after my gallbladder surgery and I had to have a CT scan to see if I had a bile leak.  I didn't.  The problem turned out to be one I could've helped on my own if I weren't raised with manners...if you know what I mean.
When they do these things laparascopically, they pump you up full of air/gas and there is only one way to get rid of it and it causes HORRIBLE pain all the way up into the shoulder and into the back.  I thought I was going to die.  But all I had to do was pass gas A LOT and it was cured.  What an embarrassing remedy...but oh well...
At any rate, she should go back to her surgeon and explain the symptoms she's having and see if they need to check her for a leak because it could be that instead of the gas problem.
And tell her she is NOT a baby.  Everyone I know, including myself, who's had this surgery says it is a doozy and causes a lot of pain.  So chin up, that's what they make pain pills for!  :-)

My daughter had laproscopic gallbladder surgery & spent 2 nights in the hospital. They (the nurses) acted like she was a baby because pain meds weren't working. She's been home for almost a week now and complains of pain when she takes a deep breath. She also says she is "uncomfortable" on her right side. I'm not sure about sneezing or coughing. She is afaid everyone thinks she is a baby. (PS: she works in the office at the hospital).

If anyone can explain a potential cause for this breathing discomfort, please let us know.
