Pain just below/under ribs on right side?

Ive been having gradually increasing pain on my right side just below/under my ribs. Does anyone have any idea what it might be from? I'm a 20 year old generally healthy guy. Have been under ALOT of stress due to moving to a new province but I've never had a problem like this. I find sometimes also when I eat it becomes painful alittle while later when my foods being digested or when I use the bathroom my BM's are very watery and diahrrea-ish. It's starting to seriously worry me.

Went to a regular doctor tuesday and she thinks i tore the muscles in my stomach, prescribed me flexril and ibuprofen. Seems to be helping so far but im still not to sure thats actually the problem. Going to keep a close eye on it, but thank you to everyone who has posted answers and suggestions to try and help. They are all very much appreciated! =)

I agree--gallbladder.  Go to your regular physician.  Request to see a gastroenterologist.  They can send you for specific testing.

Just keep track of your symptoms.  Since your pain has only been for the past two weeks, and nothing seems emergent, the doctors will send you home.  They don't typically run tests unless it's been an ongoing problem or if the problem seems like it needs to be dealt with immediately.  You could try food elimination to see if you get any relief.  In the meantime, if symptoms get worse or intolerable, make another appt. with your doctor.

Recently actually, within the last week-2 weeks and its gradually getting worse. I don't drink, smoke, and am not doing or taking drugs anymore. Used to smoke marijuana heavily and got similar pains when I did but I've been clean for like a 2 months now. I've also heard and read taking too much acetaminophen can cause something like what I'm feeling but I'm not sure, I've been sick these last 4 days with a rather nasty cold and have been taking buckleys and sinus medication more than usual. I'm wondering if my sudden increase in the medication could cause the pain I'm feeling?

How long ago did this start?  You'll need to check in with a doctor and have a few tests done to help diagnose the problem.  The area that is giving you discomfort is a busy area - so several diagnoses need to be checked into.  You have your large intestines, your small intestines, gallbladder, liver, etc.  Stress can aggravate the intestines, stress can stir up autoimmune issues (like celiac disease), gallbladder problems are common.  I had the exact same symptoms as you....I thought it was my gallbladder, but it was celiac disease (I can't eat any food that contains gluten).  But no one on here can diagnose you.  I hope this helps point you in some sort of direction.

I also find that the pain will come and go, almost fluctuating throughout the day.
