Paretonitis

Hi!

Can symptoms of peritonitis come two weeks after infection? Also, if a bowel is ruptured, can the infection happen two weeks later? And, can the abdominal pain be the only symptom?

Thanks

I know a physician is the one who would diagnose it, but I'm not into going in a hospital today...

And now the pain is gone, so I guess it was DOMS?

The only person who is going to be able to tell you yes or no about peritonitis is going to be your physician. Call and make an appointment.

I found on the net that the best test to diagnose peritonitis is rebound tenderness. I applied pressure with my hand on my abdomen slightly, and then released it, and there was no pain. I tried that on several areas of the abdomen. Does it rule out the peritonitis?

Just to add, my abdomen hurts while sitting, but the pain is greater when I do some kind of an exercise...

Well, Im panicking a bit probably... I always do.

The thing is, two weeks ago, i masturbated anally, and there was a small amount of blood. Now Im worried because my abdomen hurts a bit when moving (not while standing or sitting), but I guess that is because I had a workout yestreday after a long time on inactivity...

Just to clear up my mind, can infection happen two weeks after rupture of the bowel?

Pain is typically not the only symptom. If you are worried that you're experiencing peritonitis, then call your doc today and follow up on it. Peritonitis can be extremely serious.
