Persistent Nausea

Here is a summary of my wife's problems:

My wife aged seventy, has had a persistent nausea  problem since about February 2008. She wakes up in the morning and feels fine...until she starts to move around. The nausea stays with her until she has some food and liquid in her stomach.  Many times, it subsides, but comes back when she moves around again.   All her tests EGD, Cat Scan, MRI, etc turn out normal.  Hida Scan showed her gall bladder to be very small and only 10% operative, so she had it removed about two months ago. Nausea subsided some for a few days, but it's back almost every day now, and once in a while she has complained of dizziness as well. She hasn't experienced any pain, and has not vomited or had diarreah.  No fever either.  Doesn't seem to be tied to food, meals, etc.
Doctors are stumped.  I hope someone will come up with a good idea of the cause of this.  Any help will be very much apprediated.

She had the inner ear tests done in February, and they turned out normal.

A  few months ago, her doctor did the breath test and she tested positive for H Pylori bacteria. The first antibiotic he prescribed did away with the nausea about the day after she started taking it. About threee days after she finished the fourteen day treatment, the nausea returned.  Then he prescribed  a stronger regimen.  Nausea stopped after a day or so, then returned within four days and is still with her three weeks later. Now, it sometimes lasts all day.  She felt better this afternoon and took a shower. When she finished, she was hit with the nausea as she was putting on her clothes for church.  Really puzzling, and frustrating seeing her sick, and I can't get anything done about it.

She has since tested negative for H Pylori, and has been taken off Razadyne(24 mg ) for memory problems, put on Exelon (6mg patch), then  taken off it after two weeks and more nausea.  She has been off the Exelon patch for 72 hours, and still experiences nausea when she moves about. Recently, she started back on the lower dose of Razadyne. Her neurologist doesn't think the medicine is the cause of the nausea, though it could be aggrivating whatever is causing it.
Still puzzling and frustrating. doctors are stumped (still) and I am frustrated because I cannot help her kick the nausea or find the cause.
Really looking for help here.  Any will be gratefully accepted.
Thank you.

Ive been suffering with nausea and motion sickness all of my life. Im 44 now. I used to eat a peppermint candy because it helps.  Ive gone thru all kids of test but the Doctors cant find anything. I search the Internet and read anything in hopes something might work. My husband has to rub my head, turn off lights, and sometimes I cant eat. I always have to wear sun glasses outside because its too bright out and then I have to have a window cracked or the A/C has to be on in the car. I am the worse passenger. .I get dizzy and nausea kicks in..I wish there was help out there..I hate being a burden to my family. .J

mmm that is a hard one :S .. also after antibiotics sometimes people get hit with bacterial overgrowth like candidia so a diet low in sugars might help but usually you have bad IBS symptoms with it.  You could try eliminating a few types of foods (carefully..) like lactose..or wheat...lower citric acid intake..

also there could be something silent like  a simple ulcer that is not h. ploryi..if she feels better eating that means a few possibilities.. maybe ulcer like she had before but not healed all the way (as far as damage goes but not virus) or something to do with motility, like once she eats it stimulates other food to move and less nausea.

That is a hard one.. you could *try* fiber.. it could be plain IBS which has nausea mixed in.  Also a trial of acid reducers I guess would be worth trying if there's possible damage still left over from h. ploryi going crazy.  Also start eliminating something for a few weeks and try something else (fructose/lactose/soy) and test for celiac disease if you haven't already...other tests would be to test liver function for nausea.  There's a bunch of silent nausea types like cysts and such..

Just thinking out loud...good luck :S  I think the body is telling you something related to eating and the history of an ulcer...antibiotics can do damage to a stomach as well and after h. ploryi is gone you still can have problems.  Eating food helps ulcers so.. I'm thinking still in that area but of course keep following up with your GI.
