Small Intestine...1995?

Just a question..... I had a operation in 1995 already... I was not sick at all it was clearly just for loosing weight purposes!! I've lost 40kg but gained 10kg again. but I have stabilised for years now. The thing that is getting to me after ALL these years now is still the gas......(I am over the diarrhee for years now).... it goes well for days and then all of a sudden all hell breaks loose......are there any medication that I can use? I am taking the Charcoal tablets but it is not enough....I need something that I can drink like a chronic meds. I try to eat the 'right' foods.... (mayonnaise, dairy and pasta is a definite no-no)......PLEASE HELP.....

Does anybody know can I go for a reversal operation after all these years? The docter said he did not take out my intestine???

ANYBODY ??

Thank you sooo much. I am due for my colonoscopy as well as the gastroscopy as the yearly checkup routine. I suppose this will be a good start. u mentioned stress... yes that is a BIG factor I must say. I've started on a Low GI eating plan also now (hubby got high cholesterol etc so I justpartner with him in helping to see what we can do to help lowering the cholesterol etc) and may be this will also help me with the flatulence......

Thank you again.... I will definetily also go for a check up at the Gastroentologist.....

have a nice day :)

Hey Ina!

Well, without a detailed clinical evaluation it would be difficult to determine the cause of your symptoms, which may or may not be related to the surgery. Possible causes that may need to be considered include dietary causes, surgery related complications, malsorption syndromes, GI infections/ inflammations, GI motility issues, hormonal/ endocrine issues, stress, autonomic disturbances etc. Without a detailed evaluation and a definite diagnosis at hand it would be difficult to suggest a management plan. I would suggest considering a detailed evaluation by a gastroenterologist at this time. After a specific cause is identified, a management plan can be drafted accordingly.
Hope this is helpful.

Take care!
