Undiagnosed

I've been dealing with severe gastro symptoms for 5+ years.  The "Attacks" as I call them are happening more often and becoming more severe.  Some attacks wake me up in the middle of the night or hit in the middle of the night if I'm already awake.  It starts out as severe stomach cramps and what feels like my stomach is on fire.  I will then have severe diarrhea, nausea, and sometimes hives.  My hives are intense but only last less than 24 hours.  I've been known to pass out on the bathroom floor as well.  These attacks happen 1 or more times a month.  I don't always get hives.  My last attack was last week and my only symptoms were diarrhea and severe fatigue.  I couldn't function or keep my eyes open.  I've had a colonoscopy, endoscopy, and CT of the abdomen.  I've had allergy testing and am allergic to a lot of air born allergens and only allergic to peas and lima beans.  I'm not really ever exposed to peas and lima  beans so I'm sure they aren't a factor.  I do have a epi pen incase my throat feels like it's closing.  I've had blood work for diabetes, celiac and Thyroid.  I have discovered I have Hashimoto's Thyroiditis.  I've been to 2 endocrinologists and they don't seem to think any of my symptoms are related to thyroid.  My test for diabetes shows I'm at risk for diabetes even though my doctor tells me the test came back normal.  I don' know anyone who can relate and would really like to find a cause.

I know you were tested for allergies but.. almost sounds like a really bad food intolerance or food allergy you haven't found yet.. :S

I react terribly to maltodextrin.. and oats.. it's stupid but I went on a food allergy diet (you can google it..)

I've heard from others that if you ate nothing but pears and turkey those are the two most allergic free foods you can do.. for severe cases I wonder if you could handle that diet for like 3 days and then introduce... meat.. chicken... and just build from there and see if your IBS/anxiety and panic attacks go away...?

Just a thought but your reactions to me sound like allergy to foods..maybe a cousin food... beans or something that you're still eating (hopefully it's not like a corn allergy.. I've heard people having that and that's like the toughest one to avoid!) :S

Good luck :(

Do you drink coffee or cola drinks?  Have you ever stopped them?  I know it sounds silly, but just stopping coffee and starting Metamucil 5 capsules before bed with water solved his problems.  He was shocked that it was the coffee.  The Metamucil forms a gel in your stomach, so I guess it keeps splashing from happening at night.  It also helps with high cholesterol and keeps things moving for most people.  It also helps with diarrhea, oddly enough.

If it helps, but not completely, perhaps there is something else like citrus that you eat all the time that you could eliminate.  My boyfriend is allergic to all fruit, and hives is a symptom of some of them.

Please give this a try for a week and see if you don't feel better.
