What is causing my daughter's pain?

My daughter is 10 years old.  She has always been a good eater.  Now for about the last 3 months she is complaining of abdominal pain.  We have had to leave places because she is doubled over in so much pain.  She is an anxious person and she takes Celexa for anxiety but she has been on it for a year and a half so I don't think it is a side effect.  She eats only very little because she says if she eats she will be in pain.  She often has diarrhea too.  We went to the doctor and she had lost 6 pounds due to the fact that she is afraid to eat.  The doctor suggested trying Zantac for reflux.  She is taking the Zantac although I'm not seeing much of a difference.  I have Irritable bowel syndrome myself and I am wondering if that is what she has? Any Ideas?

http://depression.emedtv.com/celexa/celexa-side-effects.html

It does list a small percentage does wind up with stomach pain.
I would take her to another doctor for another opinion.
I think some doctors hand out meds to kids as if its candy and maybe she doesn't need these meds for anxiety and now he wants to give her more meds!!???

Its bad enough adults have to take them at times. Her anxiety might be from low level of B 12 in her body and that can be corrected - maybe you should have her level checked.

I hope she feels better soon.

She should see a gastroenterologist and get some testing done.  It could be a bunch of different things.  Has she had any change in her bowel movements.
