So, I have been having a horrible burning pain in my stomach and no appetite, in addition to weight loss for 3 weeks. I decided to go to the ER on 1/23/17. The doctor asked me a checklist of questions and said I have gastritis, but did no exams. I was hesitant to take the omeprazole because he did no tests at all. Then on 1/27/17 I was able to get appointment with my GI and she totally dismissed what I said about the gastric pain, and instead focused only on my colon (I suffer from unrelated constipation). So, then on 1/29/17 I went to the ER because the pain was unbearable, they tested for many things, and even did a scan. Those came back negative, phew. I had to ask for an H pylori tests because I would not take the omprezole unless I knew that I didn't have the bacteria. I'm currenly waiting for the results. I still don't know what cause the gastritis, they just assumed I had it since everything else was negative, no endoscopy, just h pylori blood test.
I was told to take omeprazole for one month, twice a day. I took it this morning, and because I have preparing for a sigmoidoscopy and only eating bland foods, I feel great.
My question is assuming I don't have h pylori, will omeprazole heal my gastritis in that month?
If I do have h pylori, any success stories for with triple therapy?
