abdominal pain and swelling in abdomen and legs

I had a dull pain in the lower right abdomen for one month and then noticed swelling of abdomen and now upper legs. My abdomen xrays were fine and my ultrasound and transvaginal ultrasound fine as well. Tomorrow I go in for a colonoscopy. Around this time I started taking iron supplements for hair loss. My iron levels were in the very bottom of the range but still in range and my GP said I could take supplements. I took them for about 3 weeks. Could that have caused cirrhosis of the liver? I am so scared someone please help!!!!!!!!!!!!

Have them check for protein loss in your urine this might cause those symptoms instead of GI?  There is a disease called Nephrotic Syndrome.  This usually has edema (swelling in the feet, ankles, around eyes.  However you could have vomiting and weight gain as well.  Just a shot in the dark.  I'm not in the medical profession, so please don't take this to heart, this is just something to read about.  Don't be scared to come right out and ask your DR what he/she is checking you for.  You are the one this is happening to and you are the one footing the bill!  Best of luck!  Keep us updated!

Why do you think you have cirrhosis if your ultrasound is fine? Did they rune LFTs?
