abdominal pain on the left side

In mid April I started having abdominal pain on the left side. The pain was mainly right below my rib cage and on the lower left side. I also had some small bursts of pain by my heart and on the lower right side, where my large intestine starts. The pain would worsen when I ate and would practically go away when I passed a stool. And when I was hungry my stomach would start to tighten up. At first, the pain was severe (but only when I wanted to pass a stool), over the next week or so the severe pain went away. I had dairrhea but would only go 1-2 times per day, the diarrhea was accomponied by dizziness, bloating/pressure. Then by mid May (with the help of a strict diet all the pain went away) and my stools went back to normal.

The pain returned in late August, although it was not as severe as before. It is September 8th and i still have the pain. My stomach does not tighten any more when I am hungry and my stools have gone back to normal. I have had some tests done including a blood test, sigmoidoscopy ( nothing wrong with my sigmoid colon), ultrasound, CT Scan and an MRI.

If you have any suggestions as to what could cause this, please feel free to answer.

No, there is no GI or food intolerances in my family. I went back to my normal diet, which basically consisted of junk food.
The diet was mainly rice, free range eggs, chicken, and chicken noodle soup (wheat noodles). By the way all natural homemade chicken soup works wonders for any type of stomach conditions.

What kind of a strict diet where you following? I'm assuming mid-May and stoppage of the pain, you returned to your normal diet?

Any history of GI or food intolerance issues in your family? Are you on any meds? Any other medical conditions?
