A lot of meds that are considered 'head meds' are given to calm the GI tract because there's a big mind/gut interaction. In addition, all of the same neurotransmitters (chemicals) that are found in the head are found in the stomach. It was found by accident that the meds that were give to treat 'head problems' produced a calming/changing effect on the GI tract. So now many are used to manage GI issues. Give them a chance and see if they're able to calm down your GI issues.

If you're bringing up bile, make sure the doc checks for gallbladder issues.
