chronic pancreatitis

my mother is diabetic patient since 10years. she is 40years old and suffering from chronic calcific pancreatitis since a year. But we got to know about it only a month ago as she was going through weight loss and oily stools.
she has been through ERCP but doctors could not remove calculi present in the pancreatic duct head.
so they suggested ESWL for blasting calculi.
now when we took second opinion, the doctor says that ESWL is not recommended as she doesnot have any pain , oily stools or weight loss.
please let me know if she really needs ESWL at this stage.
