I meant not giardia but c diff. usually is after antibiotic use...my bad.  Could be both.  Yeah stool study would explain a lot.

Go back to ER if you keep having these symptoms ask for a stool test for ova parasites bacteria like samonella, e coli etc and c diff. You may have a bug or food poisoning . Its hard to say without tests done.

Also make an appt with your doc so they can look for other causes if this persists.  Do not take immodium until they rule out c diff and other things. You dont want to slow down your system and keep the toxins in or you will get worse.  The ER can give you phengran or zofran for nausea to help keep you from throwing up but just do not take any antidirreah meds until you are sure.  I hope you feel better.

Yeah i'd suspect giardia honestly...did you just do antibiotics?  Usually to treat that they give you flagyl (awful drug...) but if you don't improve you probably do need to get to the ER (hopefully you have insurance) but you probably do have a stomach bug like orangeblossoms said but it could easily be giardia.

Make sure you drink fluids just like orange said...you can get some immodium (only used short term) but yeah I think you need to be on flagyl or something like that because even if stool samples are negative usually ER room doctors will prescribe that just even if they're suspicious of giardia.  Especially if you've been travelling or recently had antibiotics.  Sometimes found in water...sometimes they call it travelers diarrhea.

Anyway i'd either call your doctor (sadly it's a 3 day weekend) and ask him about giardia/flagyl or go to the ER room and they'll probably give you the same stuff sadly.  Also might as well get ready to make an appointment with a gastro doctor.

Hang in there Jewelszee :S  welcome to the club.

It sounds like you may have caught a stomach bug, have food poisoning or have an infection. Make an appointment with your doctor so that he/she can do up some work to see what's going on. In the mean time, make sure you take in plenty of fluids (especially something like Gatorade/Powerade) so that you don't become dehydrated. If your condition worsens before seeing the doctor, head back to the ER.

Good luck and take care!
