infrequent bowel movement

I want to ask if infrequent bowel movement can cause nausea and globus sensation? I have developed this strange lump-in-my-throat sensation for a week now like something's stuck in my esophagus that I can't just swallow down. The last thing that happened to me was I suddenly felt green and nauseous with a slight pain on my lower abdomen like I was gonna poop anytime and then I felt really really cold, sweaty and numb that I can't seem to hear anything anymore. I managed to go to the CR and after i "released" everything, I felt relieved and eventually felt "okay". I thought I just needed to relax but in a few minutes time, I felt ill again cold and sweaty and rushed to the CR again. I have no idea what's happening to me and I'm quite worried. This is the first time I experienced this kind of problem.

I have been diagnosed with hypothyroidism 8 years ago and so constipation is a normal thing for me and I only visit the bathroom once a week for bowel movement. Please can anybody give recommendations or their opinion on this? Is something wrong with my digestive tract? Do I have any problem with my digestive system? Any comment will be highly appreciated. Thanks.

They need to scan your thyroid, to make sure it isn't all inflammed and swelling up for some reason, which would explain your throat thing.  So, go to your endocrinologist and ask him to investigate how your thyroid is doing these days.  Now, on the constipation, yes, that can cause terrible nausea, a feeling of passing out, that sick clammy chills thing.  I realize you have adjusted to passing waste just once a week, but that simply will not do.  And since being hypo is causing this, you're in a tough spot, because it makes the digestion so sluggish.  So, to ramp up your digestion despite being hypo, I'm sure you've heard the drill:  Drink extra water, get enough exercise, and eat enough fiber foods to include wheat bread, oat cereal, acidophilus milk or activia yogurt, fresh fruit as a snack, brocholi is a miracle food, that sort of thing.  Also, you'll need to ask your doctor for a good laxative, because even tho it's not good to be on those a long time, it's worse getting stopped up and nearly passing out and being so sick that you wind up in the ER.  I hope some of this helps you a little.

Thank you for your reply. I've never been so worried since that last incident. It's been a week already and I'm afraid something might happen again over the weekend because of this constipation thing. I'll try to go on a fruit diet and maybe try some laxatives. Yes, the feeling of passing out is totally creeping me out...Hope everything will turn to normal soon... Thank you for your help =)
