intestinal metaplasia vs. barrets esophagus

is intestinal metaplasia and barrera esophagus the same thing ? or doesn't it depends on where exactly it's located ..


for example intestinal metaplasia for me was found in my lower part of the stomach .. my esophagus was normal ... i think i can getting confused between the two but i just wanted someone's opinion !!

Barrera esophagus is damage to the lower portion of the tube that connects the mouth and stomach (esophagus)- caused by exposure to stomach acid.

Intestinal metaplasia can be in the stomach or esophagus, but it's different and not always in both areas.  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intestinal_metaplasia
