Thanks for reply!
Have been taking on plenty of fluids and trying not to stress about it! i went to the chemist and briefly explained what it is that has happened and they suggested to take some diarrhea tablets that should stop it with in a day or so,if not then go to GP and see what they say, i have not been having any discomfort or pain when going or in abdominal pain with it at all so im hoping it was just a combination of stress and just being run down in general! As of yet i have not had any stool today thanks to tablets so fingers crossed it should be ok in a few days time!
hi!
Thanks for reply! as of yesterday stool pretty much stopped thank god! i went to the chemist and briefly explained what it is that has happened and they suggested to take some diarrhea tablets that should stop it with in a day or so. Due to medical history i have had some bad reactions to jabs etc since i was born and the same loose stool happens as well as a tiny bit of discharge but this is usually a very tiny amount and of clear color as stomach lining a lot weaker than what it should be and only last 2 days or so, but this time was very worrying as totally out of the norm!
So far no stool today and no mucus so fingers crossed all will be well!
Hi there!
Well, without a clinical evaluation it would be difficult to determine the cause of your symptoms. Prolonged loose stools (>5-7 days) or the presence of blood in stools would require a medical evaluation by a primary care physician or a gastroenterologist to consider possibilities such as infections (bacterial/ parasitic), inflammations, growths/ masses etc. After a cause is identified it can be managed accordingly. Meanwhile it is advised to drink plenty of fluids with added salt and sugar to prevent dehydration.
Hope this helps.
Take care!
Hello,
Stools with mucus and blood may indicate a medical problem. Hemorrhoids can cause painful stools with itching in the anal region. Bacterial and parasitic infections can cause sudden onset diarrhea, mucus and blood in stools, lower abdominal pain and urgency. A fever or illness with red, bloody stools may be a sign of few serious conditions like an inflammatory bowel disease, such as Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, and dysentery. Conditions like inflammatory bowel diseases and infected ulcers can produce mucus or pus in the intestines. I will advise you to consult a local health care provider for your symptoms. A thorough history, stool examination to rule out infection or malabsorption and investigations like colonoscopy may be needed. Do keep us posted.
Take care and regards!
