A lump behind the left ear!

Female, 41, Phoenix, AZ, member since Jul 2011
I am 5'4", 250lbs. For the past 3 days now I have been having a pain radiating from behind my left ear down to my left side of my neck. It is swollen and hot to the touch. I have taken some Advil for the pain, and that does not seem to be doing anything for it. I have i ced it and the pain is still there. I have discovered that there is a lump right under the ear where the jaw connects. That whole side of my face is swollen, hot and painful. It is also triggering headaches and causing the muscles from my jaw and all the way to my left shoulder to swell!
One other thing I have noticed is that a small part of my left side of my tongue is going numb.
Should I be at the doctors tomorrow or the emergency?

I don't smoke, don't drink, I don't take any illegal drugs.
On a scale from 1-10 this is a (7)
It would help if you could respond as soon as you can please and Thank you

Did the nurse or Dr say anything about the lump being a possible lymph node? I would say it's a possibility that that a pinched nerve in your neck could be causing the numbness. Did your Dr recommend a Neuro Dr?

well the NP said she didn't know what to say about the swollen shoulder, and didn't know what to say about the swelling in the face or neck, so she went to talk to my PCP and she said it seems its a parotid gland and supraclavicular fossa mass.
In laymen terms means its what triggers that salivator gland that causes you to get that twinge sensation when you eat something sour. Such as lemon drops or sour candy etc. She indicated to me that my PCP said that it may be blocked or that I may have an infection there, which is causing the swelling.
But as to the lump and the swollen mass on my shoulder they don't know what it is.
My take on this is that what ever this lump or knot is behind my ear has nothing to do w/any salivatery gland, because the lump is behind the ear and not in my mouth. As to the swelling I feel that its to the lump behind my hear that is causing my jaw muscle and neck muscle to swell, as a defense to the lump behind my ear. I am also feeling numbness in my L. side of my face, lip and arm which she said is a nuero issue.
She ordered a CT of my neck to check what she diagnosed me with to see what is the cause of my swollen shoulder.
P.S. I have had c5-c6 fused back in march of '03 and any kind of tension or stress I get around my neck or pain around my neck my neck, and shoulders swell. This is also in my records!
What do you think?
