A sharp pain around my thigh

About two or three months ago, I started having a very unusual sharp pain around my thigh joins the body just beside the scrotum. It's a very sharp pain, like the pain one has when one is beaten by an ant or scorpion, it only lasts a few seconds(less than 10 seconds) and it goes away for days or even a week until it happens again. What could be responsible for this?

Hello~It could be a pinched nerve and when you stand or sit a certain way, it causes pain in that area. If it continues, I would suggest seeing a chiropractor, he/she will take an x-ray of the area and will then be able to tell where the pain is coming from.
