Thank you for your advise & sharing.
No, it doesn't.
The decision that there are "too many pills" is not the decision of the patient to make, in the case of antibiotics. In other medications there may be exceptions, but not so with antibiotics.
Physicians prescribe antibiotics in accordance with standard protocols, and unless there is an allergic reaction, their instructions are to be followed. There are good reasons for a physician bringing blood levels of an antibiotic up to a certain level, and if this is not done the liklihood of developing an antibiotic resistant bacteria increases, endangering not only the patient but the rest of the human race increases.
Follow the physician's instructions and do not discourage your friend from doing so.
It just depends on what kind of antibiotic it is. I have taken antibiotics like that before, because the Dr wanted me to get high doses in. It may be for the fact of doing high doses quickly to keep from having to do IV antibiotics. Make sure your friend eats with the medicine, and be sure they drink large quanities of water. This will ensure the medicine spreads through the body better and quicker.
I advise him to follow his doctor's advice explicitly.
