Body feels like it's overheating

I'm a 64 yr old female and had a hysterectomy about 30 yrs ago. Lately I've been having this feeling like my body is overheating then I get very itchy all over. I can feel the heat radiating off my back, neck, legs, arms. Then I start to get itchy and have red lines or areas where I rubbed it or itched it. My head feels hot and crawly like I have bugs crawling around in it. My chiropractor thinks it's overactive nerves.
It mostly started after I've had several chiropractic treatments for my back.
It's driving me crazy with the itching. It feels like I've been rolling around in viber glass.
Is there any thing that can help with this? I don't take any kind of medication right now. I'm going to start taking Protandim suggested by my chiropractor.
Anyone have any suggestions? This is driving me crazy. I'm so hot and I don't have a fever.
Another thing is after I get hot, I get a chill and then I feel crawly all over

Thanks for your suggestions. I'll have see if I can find one. I've never heard of that kind of Dr. As for the Protandim, you're prob right on that. It is expensive.
I'm thinking the chiropractor may have irritated my nerves. I've been feeling like this since I've done the treatments. Now I don't know what to do to get it to stop. I'm so tired of Drs (of any kind). I've been to so many in the past few years and have gotten no help. This chiroprator is the first one who actually sits down and talks to me about what I'm feeling and who will listen to me but so far he's not helping anything either. I'm frustrated at what to do now. I like him but I don't think he's helping me with all the treatments.

P.S. The two reason I don't like chiropractors 1 not an MD and 2 they cause problems!
you should see an Osteopathic Doctor.

You can save your $$ and buy the ingredients in pill form from your health food store.

The following is a list of Protandim ingredients:
Milk thistle extract (Silybum marianum) (seed)
Bacopa extract (Bacopa monnieri) (aerial part)
   Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera) (root)
Green tea extract (Camellia sinensis) (leaf)
   Turmeric extract (Curcuma longa) (rhizome)
