The chances of you contracting rabies from a cat are very slim.
But what you can also get from the points of cat's nails when your skin is penetrated, is an infection which is very serious (called cat scratch fever) and can be life threatening too.
As the incident happened on 9 March and you have not got any red marks on your skin where the cat caught the back of your toe, then you are fine.
If the skin went red and inflamed then that would have indicated an infection and a course of antibiotics woud have been required.
My son got scratched by his domestic cat and his arm swelled up was red and hot pretty badly. I know of someone else who got scratched by a cat and had to be hospitalized and is lucky to be alive.
You did the right thing to wash the area. In fact always your hands after touching any animal.
Even though you cannot find the mother cat, but see that the kitten is still OK, the mother will be out probably hunting for food and then return later.
no the cat was very peaceful the last time i saw the cat and it was with its kitten, if the cat did have rabies then most likely the kitten would also contract it and die but the cat was living and the kitten too. are you sure hat i shut have signs by now because i did not have fever no bad head aches the real head ache is will i get rabies and die
you probably dont have it. was the cat foaming at the mouth?? if you dont have any symptoms right now i wouldn't worry about it. If you are go see a dr they will be able to tell you whether or not you should be concerned
