Chest Pain for 6 months

It started last july after working out one day and riding my motorcycle afterwards. I felt sick that night like I had caught a bug(fever and just generally felt bad). This lasted through the next day as well. On the third day I no longer felt sick but had awful chest pain on both sides of my sternum. After two weeks of dealing with the pain and it not getting any better I went to the doctor. He diagnosed it as costochondritis and gave me a prescription for prednisone(40 mg for 5 days) and pc dex syrup for a small dry cough I had(maybe twice a day).

So my chest pain went away after taking the steroid but my cough never left and my breathing felt restricted. About a month later I had someone back into my parked car in a parking lot and I got really stressed over it. This cause the pain to come back. I decided I would just take advil and wait for the pain to go away but after 3 months it was still with me. I went to a second doctor who prescribed dexilant for the acid reflux I was experience after taking ibuprofen for the past few months. He told me to come back if it the pain didnt go away after 4 days.

After another couple of weeks I went to a third doctor. He did a cbc blood test h pylori blood test and took a couple of x rays. All of them were negative. He also prescribed singulair, prednisone(10 mg for 7 days), flonase, antibiotic, and some cough syrup and mucinex. The prednisone helped with the pain but didnt make it completely go away.

So Im not sure what my next step should be. This has been going on for a several months now and doesnt seem to be getting any better. My symptoms are chest pain on the left side of my sternum(its not sore to the touch like it originally was when diagnosed as costo), increasing pain when I take a deep breath both when I inhale and exhale, it feels like someone is pressing on my back, joint pain in my shoulders(wondering if the ppi could be causing this), and pain while moving my trunk. I also had problems with a nose that would not stop running, and an itchy nose and ears. I bought an air cleaner that has really helped those for the most part. Any ideas on what this might possibly be would be nice. By the way Im a 32 year old male.

Hello.  Sorry your having so many problems.  I am an OB nurse and can't offer much help, but I will try my best.  This sounds like you may have developed some allergies and / or asthma problems.  My brother had a severe asthma attack while coincidentally was while he was riding a motorcycle.  Although I am not sure.  If your not pleased with your physician's diagnosis or care, I will advise you to seek care from another physician.  Hope you feel better soon.

Have you been to a Pulmonary specialist? If not, it sounds like you need to see one to have complete tests ran on your lungs.
