Morning headaches

I am a 49yr old female and I have been getting headaches in the mornings. I take migrane pills to get rid of it, but every morning when I wake up it is still there. What could be the cause??

I get migraines bad when I don't drink enough water as well. I was also thinking...thumpercolt, have you seen a chiropractor? I started seeing one and the results are great! One migraine every 1-3 months instead of waking to them daily!

I was thinking the same thing Daniegirl33.  Nothing sets my migraines off faster than not drinking enough water or if I go to long with out eating.   Thumpercolt a good indication would also be when you use the bathroom in the morning if your urine is darker than normal.

the cause may be , during the night your pupil ( eye get dilated in dark) in morning as soon as you get up the eyes are still in dilating stage and allow more light so that when sudden constriction happen in the pupil you may get a headche , if your are sestive to light in morning , but its better to see a neurologist he may suggest you with propoer diagnotics why your getting the pain
