Enterovirus?

Sorry, wasn't sure where to post this question. Please help if you can, I'm a bit concerned. Thanks in advanced.

I've been hearing about enterovirus for some time lately with it going around recently, but that it's mainly been affecting children so I was never too concerned with catching it myself. I've been working with and around several people who have come down with illnesses lately, so I've been trying to be vigilant about not getting sick.

On Saturday however, I felt my throat starting to feel sore and Sunday I was congested with a full-on sore throat. Between then and now I have also developed a cough, runny nose, I've been sneezing, have had a bit of a headache and possible fever. Last night I was miserable, hot and cold, no energy or appetite in addition to all of the aforementioned ailments. Today I feel much better but noticed a rashy patch that extended from my shoulder down to my stomach. It's not raised or itchy like hives, it doesn't sting or burn and I haven't been exposed to anything out of the usual or anything I'm allergic to. I'm not sure how long the rash has been there, but it's not like anything I've ever had before. I read that enterovirus can cause a rash and with it circulating the country, I thought it might be possible.

Should I be worried? I feel like I'm getting over whatever illness I had, but this rash is completely throwing me off. Any ideas?

Hi I agree, if I were you I would go to the doctor to get checked out.
I don't blame you for worrying.  I am worried as well.

While they say that children are having problems with it, anyone can get it.
I have been reading quite a bit about it.
It sounds as if children are being affected because of their  imature immune systems and can be exacerbated by asthma.

But....some adults have gotten it.  Some people can have it not even know it.  It is our immune system that fights it,
Since you are feeling better you are probably ok but I would still go.

Good luck

Sorry to hear you have been sick, that is no fun.

If it were me, I think I would see your physician and get his opinion on the rash, whatever is causing it could be circulating around still in your system, you may need an anti-biotic to get rid of it.

Hope you feel better soon.
