Fainting at night with nausea, sweating and bowel movement

Hello,

In the last 2 years I have gotten these fainting spells 5 times. Last night was the latest. I wake up in the night, sweating with heart palpitations, bowel movement and nausea. I get up slowly (sitting first for atleast 20-30 seconds) and then walk to the bathroom. 4 out of the 5 times i dont make it to the bathroom, i just faint on my way there. Once i actually got to the toilet bowl and did my thing but afterwards, when i got up, i fainted. The first time this happened, i fainted and when someone tried to lift me up (which we all know is not the right thing to do, you are sopposed to keep the person lying down, but that person didnt know) i defecated all over the floor and i was out for atleast 5 minutes. The ambulance came and they told me it was a mix of gastro and low blood pressure that caused it. The forth time this happened i banged my head real bad which is really scary. I called my doctor this morning and now he is sending me to get my heart checked. i dont really know the correlation. I would like to know whats wrong with me!

P.S. i have suffered from anxiety and i am now on Effexor Rx. The fainting spells have been happening even before i started taking this medication.

This could be a number of problems. Your Doctor is on the right track by having your heart checked out. Keep working with him until you have your answers.
