Healed finger cut that tingels and hurts

Last month I accidently cut my finger while cooking. The cut was deep but not too deep. I went to the ER and they cleaned the cut and bandaged it. And now whenever I try to stretch my finger i feel electricity going through my finger and also the side of my finger feels weird ( its not numb or anything, just a weird tingling feeling when i touch it). Cutting my nail is very painful too.
I can move my finger but the movement is limited.
So my question is should I get it checked out? or should I leave it to heal on its own?

Sorry to hear that you injured the digital nerve.

Write a list of questions that you can put to the hand surgeon when you see him next.

Hope all goes well.
Best wishes.

Unfrotunatly  My finger is still a bit swollen, the movement is better but still limited and its hypersensitive to everything. I went to the ER again last week and they referred me to a hand surgeon who said it is something called neruoma and he also said that I injured my digital nerve and that I need surgery but I'm not really sure about the surgery.

With taking the antibiotic the infection should clear over a few days and hopefully all sensations and movement will return to normal.

Let us know how you get on.
Best wishes.

Thanks for letting us know how things are and hope it gets sorted out very soon.

Did the doctor prescribe an antibiotic for you?

Best wishes.

Thank you for the advice, I went to the doctor and he said it's infected and i need an image of my finger so they can rule other things out.

There's sounds like some nerve damage may have happened when you cut your finger and you should probably see a neurologist asap to see if a nerve was cut as well as your finger.  They may be able to reattach, not a Dr but really think you need to see one.

As it has been a few weeks since the accident, I feel you should get your finger checked out.  The doctor will be able to see if  there is any infection in the wound and will prescribe an antibiotic if necessary.

The doctor will also be able to give you advice on taking care of your finger and doing any appropriate exercises if required to regain mobility.

Best wishes.
