Keep breaking out in hives

I've been breaking out in hives lately, some days it's not too bad. I think it's partly allergy. Today it's real bad and I can't seem to sit still. I feel like I'm going to crawl out of my skin - like my nerves are all jittery. I'm not on any drugs of any kind - just allegra for the hives. That usually helps with the itching but today not so much. Can the nerves cause hives? I over did some exercising on Fri and I've been paying for it since - back pain and nerve pain.
Today I'm just so jittery and shaky and can't sit still - along with the hives. And I feel like crying all day.

Anyone else get this? Is it the nerves?

Also, I'm 65 and wonder if I'm going through menopause. I get hot flashes and spacy feelings lately, like I'm in another world, not really dizzy but just spaced out. I had a hysterectomy about 30 years ago, can I still be going through menopause?

Yes,,,Nerves can def do this...I had Hives many of time's also...It's def not fun and very itchy...They would give me steriod pills to take and usually there going really quick after my 2nd dose and sometimes my first. Try using baking soda bath and don't use hot water...And calimine lotion for the itching...Helped for me..Hope you get to feeling better:)

I don't know about menopause, but I DO know that nerves can cause hives sometimes, especially in hive prone people (such as myself).

I sometimes use Benadryl Cream and put it directly on the hives (you can use it along with the allegra because the cream is non-systemic).  Also, I sometimes develop hives when I eat too much of a food that is usually safe (like smoked ham...a small amount is no problem, but too much over an extended period, and WHAM, I start getting the red bumps).  Too much sun will cause them for me too, especially if I haven't gotten much sun lately.  Try and think if there might be something you are overdoing that you usually only do a little bit of...or then there is the obvious: a change in soap, laundry detergent, perfume, etc.

Home you feel better soon!

Hi my name is Tamira Mitchell and im not a doctor but i no alot about your symptoms my older sister had the same problem and so did i you are having a allergic reaction to something so if u eat something, or be around something or wash up with something its a possibiltity you are allergic to it so just watch how you react to the thing you use because that could be the reason but most of all go to the doctor to get checked about it.

I can say you are going through menopause.
you will need iron like 400 ml on a  daily bases, And calcium and magnesium. The you should use cream reach in oil on your body at least twice a day to soften your skin. I think you should use cream reach in colagin because as age goes up, we decrease in colagin in the body.
See a  dermatologist doctor.

You might want to keep a food diary to see if you can find the culprit.  But even cold, heat and physical pressure can provoke hives.  Some doctors prescribe prednisone temporarily to help alleviate the hives.  You might also want to try a supplement of calcium and magnesium to help your body fight the allergens. Are you on a new medication?  Have you changed your shampoo or makeup?  Did you wear something new without washing it first?  Are you using a new detergent or dishwashing liquid?  We can become sensitive or allergic to anything overnight.  Meanwhile, you can apply cold compresses of salt water to relieve the itching.
