I'm mostly bothered by this because I don't know how it could have happened.
Since yesterday morning I've had a strange "pain" in my right calf. I put quotations around the word because I don't know how to describe in. It's not painful at all (most of the time, sometimes it'll cause a slight tinge that's no more than 1/10, perfectly tolerable), but it is quite annoying and it also makes me really anxious. The best way I can describe it is a nagging, sort of digging sensation.
It's localized, in the upper calf, to the right of the middle of the back of the calf. The sensation feels as if it's at the surface of the muscle rather than deep inside it. It's not tender (doesn't hurt even when manhandled, just keeps going with this nagging digging sensation), it's not hotter or colder to the touch than the equivalent area on my other leg, the area is not red and my leg is not swollen. It doesn't seem to have gotten any worse over the past 2 days, it's just...there. When I woke up this morning, I'm pretty sure it wasn't there, so maybe it comes and go.
Weirder yet, it seems to be actually worse when I'm sitting or lying down. When I'm standing, I stop feeling it, and it doesn't hurt to walk at all. Elevation doesn't seem to change anything. My leg doesn't feel heavy or weak. Sometimes it feels as if individual muscle fibers are slightly twitching, but not where the sensation is.
The reason I'm even asking anything is that I've been feeling really anxious about my health lately, and I've managed to convince myself it may be the start of a blood clot (aka DVT), despite showing none of the classic symptoms (and it feeling better when it shouldn't). I have a sedentary lifestyle, I spend a lot of time at the computer, but I'm generally so nervous my legs and feet are in almost constant movement, and I squirm a lot in my chair. No family history whatsoever. I can't do an ultrasound because it'll never be taken seriously, I can't see a doctor because that'd take forever, so the best I can do is reassurance.
The one thing that may have caused this is that I had a terrible night before my leg started nagging me. Lots of tossing and turning. I usually sleep on my right side but went back/side/back/side all night. I also have awful position when sitting (I sit on my lower back instead of on my butt) so that may be that catching up with me too. Aside from that, I don't know.
Anyone know what's going on?
